Reborn Design
We Give Recycled Materials a New Life
Mission of the Challenge
Our vision is to transform recycled materials into valuable products through design, making them competitive in the market and contributing to a sustainable future.
Solution
We aim to improve the perception of recycled materials by adding greater value through innovative design and new manufacturing processes.
Workshops at Lavaris
Lavaris offers participants not only technical and material support but also a space for creative workshops. Here, designers and architects can explore various materials, consult on their designs, and gain valuable practical experience from our material experts.
The Challenge We Are Addressing
Recycled materials have immense potential, but the industry often underestimates them. Our goal is to find ways to turn these materials into high-quality, attractive products that will find their place in the market.
Reborn Design Materials
The challenge includes upcycling in the following key areas:
-
Construction waste
-
Automotive plastic waste
-
Recycled rubber
-
Plastics
-
Paper
-
And more – we will see what new materials and collaborations future editions bring. The challenge also includes experimental categories, such as mycelium.
Participants and Partners
Within this challenge, we bring together designers, architects, students, and industry partners to explore new possibilities for using recycled materials and promote circular thinking in design and architecture.
Co-organizer of the Challenge: Plastenco product eco-design studio.
Involved Universities: Faculty of Architecture, CVUT in Prague, Mendel University in Brno.
